Rescue dogs, Sophia and Kenji, grew up together on a South Korea meat farm. They comforted and protected each other as they tried to survive the challenges that their rough lives entailed. Luckily, their suffering ended when they were rescued by Jindo Love and brought to the United States so they could find their forever home. However, being adopted by different families caused them to be separated.
Lindsey Goldstein, became Kenji’s mom when she applied for his adoption in Sweet Paws Rescue. According to Lindsey, Kenji was such a sweet and affectionate dog. He loved the belly rubs and attention he got from his new family. His deep howls were indicators that he was excited to see his new family.
Even though Kenji became a great addition to the Goldstein family, he didn’t like hanging out with other dogs. Lindsey knew Sophia was Kenji’s missing puzzle piece because of the deep bond they shared. Lindsey came up with the idea of arranging a reunion for Sophia and Kenji. The pair hadn’t seen each other since they were rescued from the meat farm.
At first, their families weren’t sure if Kenji would still recognize Sophia. However, it was clear that they had not forgotten their friendship when they met. Lindsey witnessed the beautiful friendship that Kenji had built with Sophia. They missed each other’s company as they played, ran, and jumped all over.
Kenji became more energetic when Sophia was around. He played in the yard with his canine companion, and the reunion was indeed heartwarming. Lindsey thought that one reason Kenji wasn’t fond of other dogs was that he missed Sophia, his best friend.
Now that they were together, they grabbed the opportunity to make up for the lost time. Since their first reunion was a success, Lindsey hoped that there would be more meetups to come, so Sophia and Kenji could spend some quality time to celebrate their friendship.
