The COVID-19 pandemic’s effects continue to get ugly as days pass by. Until now, there is no cure or prevention to stop the spread of the disease. The only way to curb the increasing cases is for people to practice social distancing. Of course, this protocol does not seem to bode well to some people, especially those who have dogs.
For these dog lovers, they need to walk their dogs outside of their homes as part of their routine. This is also a type of exercise for both the dog and his or her owner. However, this activity should be halted or limited because this could mean more human interaction outside.
This dog parent from Cyprus, however, developed a way to walk his dog. This is through the help of a drone. Vakis Demetriou thought of this alternative as a way to exercise his pooch outside. By using a drone, Demetrious does not need to go out. Instead, he needs to tie the dog through a drone, and then the dog does the walking outside.
According to Demetriou, he is confident that his pooch, Snow, will behave well during the walking. The man said that Snow likes to walk within their community. It is the dog’s way of unwinding as well as exercising.
Ever since Demetriou developed this technique, several people from different countries borrowed the idea. Demetriou uploaded a video of the drone guiding the pooch in walking. Soon enough, people started to take notice and adopted the approach.
For Demetrious, it does not offend him that other people copied his technique. Instead, he is delighted that he got to help dog owners find an alternative to the usual walking activities of their dogs. He is hoping, though, that these dog owners should observe due diligence in trying out the technology to their dogs.
